To receive or send electronic transactions, you will need the following equipment and software capabilities:
A computer--mainframe or PC.
Translation software to format your business elements into the ANSI X12 standard formats for transmission or interpretation.
Communications hardware--a modem and telephone line.
Communications software to handle sending and receiving data.
A Value Added Network (VAN) to handle the last two communications items above.
TXU will provide you with information on any EDI transaction set you will be sending to and/or receiving from TXU.
