Gold Star Recognition
TXU has a Recognition Program for individuals, groups, and businesses who make significant contributions to our progress. While it began as strictly an internal program TXU Supplier Diversity Gold Star Recognition Program has now expanded to include external recognition. Each year, employees across the company are awarded "gold stars" for their efforts (such as helping to mentor an m/wbe supplier; assuring inclusion in bid opportunities; working at one of the major trade shows in the supplier to buyer forums). Annually a Gold Star Recognition Reception is held, where employees who have received Gold Stars during the year are invited to attend. At this reception, TXU's Chairman and CEO speaks about TXU's ongoing commitment to Supplier Diversity, and assists in the awarding of some special annual employee awards. In addition, awards are also presented to TXU Supplier Diversity Gold Star Suppliers (M/WBE suppliers who are honored for their exemplary service to TXU, commitment to supplier and workforce diversity, and commitment to the community); a Group Award (an outstanding business group within TXU who has consistently been progressive and successful with their Supplier Diversity commitment) and a Partnership Award (presented to a non-M/WBE supplier who supports TXU's efforts through second-tier participation, sponsorships, mentoring, etc.).
