Policy and Commitment

It is the Policy of TXU to procure goods and services from qualified suppliers and contractors. This Policy ensures that businesses owned by women and minorities, as well as small businesses, have equal opportunities to participate in our Procurement process. In supporting the development of such firms, TXU will actively seek qualified minority-and women-owned business concerns with which to do business and will endeavor to assist these business concerns with their development. In furtherance of this policy, TXU will participate in activities, organizations and programs which promote such enterprises. In addition, the Company will provide maximum practicable opportunity to companies with federal designation of small business, small disadvantaged business, small women-owned businesses, small businesses located in HUBZones, and small businesses owned by Service Disabled Veterans.

Administration and implementation of this Policy is the responsibility of all organizations and business units throughout TXU, with support of TXU’s Strategic Sourcing organization.

A Message from John Wilder

Re: Supplier Diversity Policy Statement

TXU has a long and impressive history in the area of Supplier Diversity, realizing that a progressive and successful initiative in this area broadens the economic vitality and prosperity of communities. Affording all citizens an equal opportunity to participate in our procurement and sourcing processes makes good business sense as it enhances our ability to call upon the resources of the entire community.

Economic development, including the development and utilization of diverse businesses, helps to expand market opportunities and growth potential. Additionally, because of the importance of diversity to our customers and potential customers, successful diversity initiatives may serve to improve and increase our competitive advantage.

The strength of our corporate commitment to the growth, development and utilization of diverse businesses is reflected in our corporate Supplier Diversity Policy Statement. I encourage you to share this Statement, as well as the significance of this commitment with all employees.
