Luminant is the new name for TXU Corp.'s power generation and related businesses, which include mining, wholesale marketing and trading, construction and development operations.
Luminant has over 18,300 MW of generation in Texas, including 2,300 MW of nuclear and 5,800 MW of coal-fueled generation capacity. Luminant is also the largest purchaser of wind-generated electricity in Texas and fifth largest in the United States.

The Oak Grove Project
The 1,600-megawatt, lignite-fired power plant in Robertson County, will deliver reliable, low-cost energy for Texas as well as help improve fuel diversity in the state's electric generation. The facility will be located at the site of a previously planned power plant. Much of the infrastructure is already in place, which will help Oak Grove to be one of the lowest-cost and fastest-to-market power plants in the state.

Generation Services
With a combination of traditional ownership of generation plants as well as lease and management agreements, our goal is to ensure that the power we supply is predictable and competitively priced.
