Gas Maintenance Strategies EIA GEN Team

Evaluated the use of the PlasmaBond® Process for bolting applications in a number of areas. Specifically in the case of turbine coupling studs/bolts, we are recommending this process on all future stud/bolt installations during turbine inspection overhauls. You may be aware that we used Engineered Surfaces on a couple of sets of turbine studs in 1992 and have had outstanding results. We have also recommended use of the process on boiler feed pump head studs/nuts. From your perspective, you should expect to see a steady stream of these parts to be processed over the course of the next several years as inspections of this equipment take place. As well, some plants have/will take the opportunity to have spare studs/bolts/nuts from their warehouse inventory processed so they will be ready off the shelf.
